Hellgate London Review - Maybe Not What You Want to Hear
There was a lot of hype surrounding this game, and plenty of people were eager to play it. The problem with that is that the game didn't really hold up to all of that hype.
This is not to say that this online game review is here to bash this new game; it wasn't that bad. It just wasn't extraordinary. When you hear so many good things about something, you expect it to be off the wall great or at least something that you've never seen before.
But there was nothing about this game that was new, incredible, or breathtaking. There were some parts you could get excited about, and it was fun. These parts need to be scooped up, magnified and used to make the entire game the same way.
If you find another Hellgate London review and it says the game was blow-your-brains-out fantastic, or that it even lived up to the public's expectations, they're lying. It's rather like smiling and complimenting your girlfriend or boyfriend instead of telling them that their new hairdo really looks bad, because you'd rather not hurt their feelings.
One of the other weak points of this game is the ultra confusing stats. How in the world do you keep track of a dizzying number of weapons, each with its own different damage-inflicting ability? Even so, it's pretty cool to see that it's possible to do different kinds of attacks.
One of the neatest things that I will include in this Hellgate London review is that you are now able to break down items to save on space in your inventory, and you're able to suck up your gold like a vacuum. Hey, it doesn't get any cooler than that. Don't forget, if it doesn't work out between you and Hellgate London, there are many other games to try.
